As we have heard that US president Donald Trump has corona virus. A virus that has killed more than 2 lacs people in United States under his watch. On an average half of the US country are suffering from the covid. Because of his silly policies about pandemic, social justice, and immigration, among others.
Some of them want or wishing on twitter that Donald Trump should die from these covid case. Many of them have explicitly tweeted on twitter that they hope the President dies from coronavirus.
Twitter said to Motherboard that people can not directly about Donald Trump death due to coronavirus on this platform openly. And these types of tweets must be deleted from the account who has put it read openly mode. Twitter takes to an abusive behavior that is already available in the books since April.
tweets that wish or hope for death, serious bodily harm or fatal disease against *anyone* are not allowed and will need to be removed. this does not automatically mean suspension. https://t.co/lQ8wWGL2y0 https://t.co/P2vGfUeUQf— Twitter Comms (@TwitterComms) October 2, 2020
In a statement twitter mentioned that the content with hopes wishes to anyone death wishes, serious harm to the body, is against to our rules. And this rule will apply to all those peoples who are wishing the death of Donald Trump globally.
As Motherboard has previously reported to the Facebook also and they stated that Facebook has a different rule of speech to celebrities and public figures.
They says that it “distinguish[es] between public figures and private individuals because we want to allow discussion, which often includes critical commentary of people who are featured in the news or who have a large public audience. For public figures, we remove severe attacks as well as certain attacks. Where the public figure is directly tagged in the post or comment.”
What is the meaning of this statement, that Facebook allow users to post these types of contents like Donald Trump dies, if you do not tag him and make a wish too.
But Twitter does not makes difference between public and private figures.
