Basically 2FA is known as Two Factor Authentication, which should be enabled on every account if the website provides 2FA.
Two Factor Authentication is used as an extra layer of security after the general level security like username and password. Which means if the general security is breached by mistake then the hacker have face the next layer of security and here your account will be safe.
The second layer of security is known as Two Factor Authentication and to activate this security you should have an email and phone.
But if you are going to activate 2FA for email then you must have a phone to enable this. Now there will be a question in your mind that how can an extra security using a phone number? So let’s understand it.
How Two Factor Authentication Work?
When you create any account, you need a password to log in, and when you have enabled 2FA, then your account becomes secure.
Whenever you log in to the account yourself, first you have to type username and password and when you also type the correct password then after that an OTP will be sent to your mobile number and you can not log in untill you provide the otp.
Since OTP will only sent on your mobile and when the mobile is near to you, even if someone knows your password due to any mistake, then your account will be completely secure.
So this is the idea behind the working of Two Factor Authentication.
